During spring break, 66 students from Culver City Middle School and Culver City High School traveled for life with the Culver City Travel Club, accompanied by eight parents and 11 teachers. Their destination: Japan – a country with culture, history and unforgettable experiences.
The organization travels through Japan’s most iconic cities, including Osaka, Kyoto, Hakorn and Tokyo. Along the way, they visited the historic shrine, admired Kyoto’s amazing Jinting, wandered the bustling streets of the Dodon Castle Canal in Osaka, and fed friendly deer in Nara. In Samurai Kura, students see the Great Buddha and the
traditional temple situated in the hills.Tokyo offers a vibrant ending for the adventure. Students explore the colorful Harajuku Fashion District, bravely boasting about the world-famous shibuya Crossing, and entering the technology and anime culture of Akihabara. The trip was full of fun and excitement at Tokyo Disneysea, creating memories that students won’t forget soon.
“It’s an incredible opportunity for our students to immerse themselves in another culture,” said a companion teacher. “They come home with a new perspective, lasting friendship and a deeper appreciation of the world around them.”
Culver City Travel Club continues to provide students with meaningful global experiences to bring classroom learning to life through hands-on cultural exploration. Next year’s adventures include spring break to Panama, and summer trips to New Zealand and Australia.
